Safety mesures while travelling alone in Taxi

How many of us actually stay cautious when we are in a taxi alone? Just because taxi booking services ensure safety does not mean that we should not put in any effort. Our ignorance may put us in dangerous situations. If you are travelling alone especially during night time make sure that you follow these simple steps below.

Check the vehicle number

Whether you booked a cab online or called a local taxi make sure that you note down the car number before entering the car. Take a picture or note it down somewhere so that you don’t forget it.

Check the door handles

After getting inside the car, make sure that the door handles are working from the inside.

Keep expensive things hidden

If you wear expensive jewelry then it is best that you keep them inside or hide them. If you have multiple gadgets then avoid using them so much and keep them inside.

Know where you are going

Have knowledge about the destination you are going to. If it is your first time then check the map of where you are going or call someone who knows the destination and ask them to assist you

Keep your phone close

Make sure your phone is close to you. Avoid traveling if your battery is too low or if you don’t have a valid recharge plan.

Know whom to call during an emergency

Keep numbers of close friends and family on the speed dial in case of emergency. You can also call emergency number 122.

Stay on the phone if possible

If it is possible, ask a friend or family member to stay in the line till you finish the ride. Keep them updated of where you are and share the vehicle number with them

Stay alert!

Staying alert inside the taxi after long flights can be troublesome but try not to fall asleep till the end of the ride. Don’t listen to music as it may distract you.

If you have any negative experience then you can always report the particular driver. If you are a female, the platform will immediately suspend the driver’s account or report for suspension after review.
