We all know how easy it is to find and manage a carpool/bike pool ride with the Quick Ride app. Recently we have also introduced the Ride Moderation feature which helps the ride giver to efficiently manage the ride. We at Quick Ride work tirelessly to make the carpooling experience better. We keep working on fine-tuning the app by adding new features and improving the user interface for a seamless carpooling experience.
Quick Ride app is also very flexible when it comes to fares. Yes, as a ride giver, you have the flexibility to change the fare depending on the route and vehicle. Even ride takers can also negotiate the fare if they find the fare is too high for a particular route. But for that to happen ride giver should enable the fare negotiation feature.
To enable fare negotiation, go to Settings > Ride and enable Allow Fare Negotiation feature. A ride taker can negotiate with the ride giver and come to a mutual agreement on the fuel points. In this blog, we will explain how to change the fare as a ride giver and negotiate with the ride giver on the Quick Ride app.
How to change fare as a ride giver?
Changing the fare as a ride giver is very easy on the Quick Ride app. Just click on the offer ride tab and then click on the vehicle column. The next pop up on the app will allow you to change the fuel points as per your requirement. By default, the fare is set to 4 points, and you can enter your desired fare between 0 to 6 points. After you have changed the points, just hit the confirm button to save the changes.
Now, imagine you have already posted a ride, and you want to change the fare as you are not getting any matches. Just go to my My Rides and click on the Upcoming Rides. Click the three dots on the top right corner > Edit > Edit Ride. Click on the vehicle column and change the fare and hit the confirm button. To save the changes, click on the Update Ride button. The fare will be updated on the already posted ride.
How to negotiate fare as a ride taker?
Quick Ride offers flexible options when it comes to fare. It’s a unique feature which allows both the ride giver and taker to fine-tune the fuel points for a particular ride. As a ride taker, you can always negotiate the fare if you feel that the quoted fare is very high for that particular route. All you have to do is just search for the ride and click on the points section of any ride. If a rider giver has allowed fare negotiation, the points will display in blue colour. After you click the points, a pop up will display where you can enter your proposed fuel points and send a request to the ride giver. The pop up will also show you the minimum fare for that particular route. You cannot enter a point which is below the minimum fare.
Note: The fare negotiation feature will only work if the ride giver has enabled the feature.
Freeze Ride feature
The freeze ride feature is only available to ride givers on the Quick Ride app. A ride giver can freeze the ride anytime or after the seats are filled. If you freeze the ride, you will no longer appear on the ride taker’s search list for that particular route. After you post the ride, you can see a lock symbol on the main ride screen. Just click on that, and a pop up will be displayed which allows you to freeze the ride.
For instance, you post a ride for 3 seats, and all three seats get filled, the freeze ride option will automatically pop up. If you do not freeze the ride manually, the app will automatically freeze your ride as per your drop points on that particular route. So, until the first drop point, the ride will be freezed. Anybody searching for a ride after the first drop point will be able to see you and send a request as one rider will be getting down at the first drop point. But if you manually freeze the ride, you will not be visible to ride takers till the ride is complete.
The Freeze Ride feature comes in handy if you do not want to pick anybody else on the route. For example, if you prefer to travel with your regular ride takers, you can freeze the ride so that nobody else will be able to send you requests.
We hope that this blog clears all your doubts regarding negotiating the fare with ride givers and freezing a ride as a ride giver.
